De La Mano: Print Based Works from
La Mano Press and La Mano Grafica
December 8, 2011 through March 4, 2012.
at the Bakersfiel Museum of Art
This exhibition features print-based work by artists affiliated with La Mano Press
(LMP)/La Mano Grafica (LMG) and their co-founders, Artemio Rodriguez and Silvia Capistran.
Although Capistran and Rodriguez closed LMP in 2008 and relocated to Michoacan,
Mexico, the work created at LMP and the programs organized by LMG continue to engage,
inspire and influence artists on both sides of the border.
Works include prints, sculptures, installation and video works. All works find their home in the
process of printmaking, showing the continued relevance of this ancient process.
The opening reception takes place on Thursday, December 8, 2011.
The exhibition runs through March 4, 2012.
